Melody Davidson

Melody Davidson

Melody attributes her clinical and administrative training with sparking her passion for natural medicine. Her training in the dental industry for seven years helped Melody “catch” the bug of medicine. After taking some 'time out' to look after a sick family member, Melody had a health crisis of her own. Through adversity comes triumph they say and it was during this time that her passion for medicine drove her to search for natural treatments to become well again. Melody can say that she has probably never been as well as what she is today. After friends and family asking many questions on how she got to where she is today, Melody decided to take the plunge and head off for tertiary training in the natural medicine field.

Melody is currently studying towards a bachelor of natural medicine to become a qualified Naturopath. Her goal is to then go to the next level and gain a post-graduate diploma in Nutrition through Massey University, all the while working toward her full practitioner status as a Buteyko Breathing Practitioner. Buteyko breathing to Melody is the 'missing' link to so many different modalities and this is why she is incorporating this qualification into her field of current studies.

Just like coconut oil is said to be a 'cure-all', Melody uses this analogy to describe how she feels about Buteyko breathing. Melody said: “It really has changed my life. Many have said that I am 'mad' taking on all of this but believe me when I say I have a real passion that drives all of this. I was one of 'those' patients that didn't stop until I had all the answers and was completely well again and now I feel compelled to pass on that knowledge to others.”

Aside from her studies, Melody has great passion for the outdoors and wildlife and enjoys heading back to her family farm in the King Country whenever she can. Melody enjoys many sports, whether it be playing or watching them. Gardening is another great passion of hers, but Melody says that number one would have to be cooking, “especially French cuisine and that includes making some of those glorious cheeses too.”
