About Asthma in New Zealand

Asthma is a serious illness

Over 500,000 New Zealanders have asthma.

One in seven children and one in nine adults have asthma.

70 people die from asthma in New Zealand each year and asthma is the most common reason for hospital admissions in children.

These are just some of the statistics from the NZ National Respiratory Strategy 2015 that ranked New Zealand as nearly the worst country in the world for asthma.
