Early in 2010 I was diagnosed with moderate to severe COPD. 1000ug of inhaled steroid, 4 puffs of long acting bronchial dilator and the odd puff of short acting bronchial dilator was required to control the deteriorating condition.
Doctors had informed me that it was not possible to reduce the medication and that the condition would worsen over time.
My breathing has improved and I feel that I can manage/cope with this problem. I recently had a Spirometry test and was told by the Doctor at the Respiratory Centre that the readings were excellent and she was discharging me from the Hospital. Many thanks to Glenn for his patience and Buteyko.
I was diagnosed with IPF, a progressive, fatal lung disease in which the alveoli and the lung tissue are damaged (fibrosis), leading to severe breathing difficulties and compromising oxygen transfer between the lungs and the bloodstream.
