Why do some people get asthma?

Asthma gene

Asthmatics are genetically predisposed to asthma by having:
  • Stronger, thicker smooth muscle lining the airways i
  • Five times as many mast cells as non-asthmatics ii
  • More mucus-producing cells lining the airways iii

You can't change your genetics, but you can correct your breathing and this is the key to helping control your asthma.
